MY SON, MY BROTHER

Todays post is for my son, my little brother, my dad, my nephews, uncles, the rest of the men in my life and my brothers around the world.

Today I gave birth to my son, he gasped as he took his first breath.

“Let us breathe”

Today my son took he’s first steps, he would soon be walking in the outside world.

“Let him breathe”

Today my son started school.

“Let him breathe”

Today my son graduated university.

“Let him breathe”

Today my son started his first job”

“Let him breathe”

Today my son moved into his first home”

“Let him breathe”

Today my son is getting a taste of the real world.

Today my son will he stopped by the police more times than he can remember.

Today I lie awake waiting for that text to say “I’m home mum”

Today and every day

I say “LET US BREATHE”
